Annual Jamaica Ocho Rios International Jazz Festival

OCHO RIOS JAMAICA - The Jamaica Ocho Rios Jazz Festival started in 1991 as an experimental one-day event called at the time The Ocho Rios "Mini" Jazz Festival. It was produced and directed by Musician/Journalist Sonny Bradshaw in an effort to redefine the Jamaican musical landscape and enhance the Tourism product by providing an entertainment atmosphere that whole families could share and enjoy. With that in mind, "Father's Day" was chosen for the event, Carib Inn Beach (Ocho Rios) the venue and the "Greatest Names in Jamaican Jazz" the byline.

In three years the festival grew from one to eight days and became the Caribbean's complete jazz vacation, featuring the greatest names in Jamaican Jazz as well as the very best of international fare. It boasts a Youth Programme, daily free concerts, a large-scale Photo Exhibition and events large and small going on simultaneously all over the Island--Kingston, Montego Bay, Negril, Runaway Bay--Ocho Rios. It has established a "Jazz Hall of Fame" recognising those Jamaican and Caribbean Musicians who have distinguished themselves internationally while contributing to the development of the art form.

Annual Soul Beach Music Festival In Aruba

San Sebastian Street Festival

SAN SEBASTIAN PUERTO RICO

On Friday night, Ashford Avenue in Condado was flooded with cars. This is not uncommon for Condado. On Friday and Saturday nights, Ashford Ave. is a crawling parade of cars with booming sound systems, and a constant bustle of tourists and local pedestrians making their way to the street's popular restaurants, bars and nigh clubs. But this past Friday Ashford's traffic jam had a different reason for being.

Approximately 5 miles away, in Old San Juan, thousands of locals and tourists were making their way to the San Sebastian Street Festival, Puerto Rico's answer to Mardi Gras. The San Sebastian Street Fest was started about 50 years ago, when then-San Juan Mayor Felisa Rincón insitituted the weekend-long celebration. The beginnings were humble. Old San Juan was not as much a tourist attraction, as a tourist curiosity..........

St Barth Music Festival Jazz Classical and Chamber Music

Since 1984, St. Barts has hosted a performing arts festival unlike any other in the world.

Each year during January we offer more than a dozen nights of the finest live music and dance performances in an informal, island setting. Audiences are treated to intimate concerts by some of the world's most prominent classical, opera, ballet, and jazz stars. These performers have the level of artistry that one would normally have to attend Carnegie Hall in New York or the Opera Garnier in Paris to experience. But we offer them to our audiences with the added advantage of island breezes and the fragrance of flowering hibiscus.
